Vilhelm Christensen
I Was Moved (2023). Installation, Gamle Munch
Vilhelm Christensen (b. 1984) is an interdisciplinary artist working across spatial disciplines and mediums through a site-specific approach. He is concerned with how places, spaces and materials carry memories and stories, which can live on through transformations, reinterpretations and repurposing. In institutional and public spaces, his interest lies in uncovering forgotten or neglected values and memories. Through a site-specific explorative process, he creates temporal situations in the physical context he works with. This can take form as alterations of the space, staging, interventions, displacements, “archaeological” gestures, installations, residue and sculptures of found material.
